Welcome and thank you for visiting "Back in the Day MX". We're certain all of you '77  -  '84 EVO / PVMX enthusiasts will find what you need for your  YZ here! BITD MX has gone the distance & we've done our homework in order to assure you that we have what it takes to get your YZ completely dialed and your confidence level high!

Before you jump the gate & shred into our many offerings, we would like to express our appreciation / admiration & respect to the gentleman who helped bring this sport to the level it enjoys today. Without them we wouldn't have the key to the knowledge, let alone the opportunity to be involved in this great sport. Past motocross champions & the award winning photographers who brought them into our living rooms, inside such great magazines as Motocross Action / Cycle / Dirt Bike & the weekly Off road Bible known as Cycle News.

Without these men, the sport would not have escalated into the thriving machine it is today! In the beginning, there was Mr. Edison Dye who brought the top Euros over the pond to the States & educated our boys on the sport of MX. A sport in which the great US of A would begin to dominate a short one dozen years or so later, ironically under the guidance of Mr. Roger DeCoster, who was one of Dyes original crew. ( See pic in "who are we" ) snapped by me at the White Bros. World Vets in '99. ) Yet more so tailored to this site & the bikes we are so fortunate to service / modify & build , or simply gaze upon, are past champions like: Bob Hannah / Broc Glover / Rick Johnson / Marty Smith / Jeff Ward / Mike Bell / David Bailey / DeCoster / Lackey / Tony D. / Jammer & others. Equally important is the other half of the  powerful equation.

We respectfully refer to these men as the "Photographer".  Without their contribution to the sport via magazines / ads / posters / race programs, dealership brochures & other promotional moto swag, the motocross world would lack the motivational viewing content in which it motivates you the reader - the visitor - the viewer - the motocross enthusiast to get up off the couch & into the showroom to buy bikes, or head out to the track to watch our heroes, or out to the shop to spin a wrench on your own prized machine. Such talented camera snapping men include: Dick Miller / John Gregory / Jim Gianatsis / Charlie Morey / Paul Buckley & Kinny Jones to name a few.

Finally, let us kick a nod to the modern day MX Publication RACERX for keeping it real while keeping the past alive through excellent coverage through both their print & their web site. Back in the day MX is not affiliated with any of the above names and or company's, but is simply expressing their appreciation & are thankful for their early on & on going involvement in the great sport of American Motocross!
